The Fourth of July is always such a festive holiday and brings back fond memories of picnics with friends of my parents and their kids. We didn't see them very often, apart from the 4th of July get togethers and other random visits. There was always good food, a lot of outdoor fun and bugs--flying everywhere! I can't remember what these flying creatures were, but there would be thousands of them, clinging to trees (or flying around your head!). My sister and I would love to tempt fate and fling our sandals into the trees from our perfect launch-- swinging on the swing set! It would always send them flying!! To celebrate such fond memories, I wanted to do a patriotic post filled with lots of red, white and blue! Happy 4th of July everyone! Enjoy your fireworks, picnics and great times with family and friends, bugs included.
